Position Summary
The Barowsky School of Business is seeking a part-time instructor to co-teach a course in the Business Administration program during the spring in 2024 (January-May 2024).

Responsibilities

  • Teach a four-unit course at the undergraduate level
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Instructors are required to work with the School to complete assessments of their course for AACSB Assurance of Learning purposes
  • Course Description

  • BUS 4070.1 – Advanced Management Practices and Negotiation (January 16-May 8, 2024; in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:10-5:50 pm) This course focuses on the advanced management practices necessary to succeed in a global business environment. Building on applied theory, students will research and apply management skills in: on-boarding, planning and budgeting, project management, meeting planning, interviewing prospective employees, conflict resolution and negotiations, peer coaching, managing virtual teams, and innovation and creativity.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business with an emphasis on management practices, organization behavior or human resources.
  • Industry experience in leading change management processes.
  • Google Suite: Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, and Slides
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Zoom
  • Digital Camera
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in business with emphasis on management practices, organization behavior or human resources.
  • Industry experience in leading change management processes, organization development, and strategy consulting.
  • Experience teaching advanced management practices at the undergraduate level.

    Adjunct Compensation

    Adjunct Faculty members are employed in a professional capacity at the University. For courses, including service-learning courses and laboratories, the University compensates Adjunct Faculty Members on a per-unit basis for Course-Related Work as set forth in Article 15 of the CBA. All other duties or work performed on behalf of the University as an Adjunct Faculty Member are compensated in accordance with Article 12 – Faculty Development or Article 16 – Special Compensation. Adjunct Faculty Members who teach on a per-unit basis shall receive compensation per unit for assignments as an instructor for a credit-bearing course or laboratory. Movement through the step system shall be based on total number of Dominican Points and satisfactory performance, as set forth in Article 13, Performance Evaluation.
